The invention

Kanade wraps around the shoulder and forearm, transferring load through carbon-fibre struts. Its whisper-quiet servos boost lifting capacity by 18 kg without restricting natural motion. Battery life exceeds a full eight-hour shift.

Designed in collaboration with three Tokyo eldercare homes, Kanade is now on trial across four countries.
